Games to play using flashcards to make learning fun.
The following games use our Arabic Alphabet Snap cards, but the games can be adapted for use with any flashcards.
Game 1 – Snap it up
Lay a few cards out and call out a letter. Children race to ‘Snap’ the letter that has been called out. The child who snaps the letter keeps it. The child with the most cards at the end of the game wins.
- Use the letters introduced that day and any previous letters learnt
- Extend it – Call out a word instead of a letter. Children race to ‘Snap’ the letter that starts the word.
- This can be played with blue cards (stand alone letters) for beginners
- This game can also be played with red cards (initial join letters) for those who are learning letter joins
- Extend it – Call out a word instead of a letter. Children race to ‘Snap’ the letter that starts the word.
Game 2 – Call it out
Hold up one card at a time. Whoever calls out the correct letter name wins the card. The child with the most cards at the end of the game wins.
- Use the letters introduced that day and any previous letters learnt
- Extend it – Mix it up by using all coloured cards (stand alone, initial, middle and end letter forms).
